Ben Carlson was more than a beloved member of the Newport Lifeguard community. He was a waterman, surfer and loyal protector of the waters that surrounded his home.

Two years ago on July 6, Ben lost his life while saving another. The photo above shows the paddle-out celebrating Ben’s life, and it’s this amazing moment that graces the Hurley Ben Carlson Collection.
