I've returned from my time spent in the Canadian Rockies and have plenty of images, stories, and memories to bring back with me. I figured I'd start with a slightly different take on a truly classic location, Moraine Lake. Most lakes in the Canadian Rockies glow with a deep turquoise color that's produced by glacial powder that melts into the lakes during late spring and summer. During the sunrise, pictured here, the sun isn't directly overhead yet, so the lake does not give off that amazing color quite yet, but it's still gorgeous nonetheless. In my opinion, I think it's hard to find a more beautiful place on earth than Banff National Park and the surrounding area. Glacier carved peaks, sweeping valleys filled with rivers and dense forests, mosaics of flowers and colorful aspen trees, and the bountiful wildlife help make it a wonderful gem that will make you want more.
