Engineering is not always mechanical or electrical works! It can also be seen in projects like the ABC (Active, Beautiful, Clean) Waters at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, where PUB used soil bioengineering techniques to stabilise the river banks and prevent erosion.
This project was recognised by the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) as one of the top 50 Engineering Feats in Singapore at its Golden Jubilee Dinner which I attended last night. Some of the other awardees included Gardens By The Bay, Jurong Island, NEWater, and the invention of the ThumbDrive!
