On one of the steepest pitches of the tower, things started to get serious. I had already taken two bit falls and my socks were soaked through with blood and mud. I told the team that if fell at this moment, I was backing off. No summit is worth compromising life. Fortunately, I was able to create an amicable relationship with the tower and finessed through the overhanging immaculate mayhem without falling (well without falling again on that pitch).
