“I am a California kid, born and raised! I make no apologies for this. This is me in 1968 at 3 months old, wearing Style #15 of the @vans catalog. My dad loved Vans and wore them for his pool cleaning business on account of they were cheap, durable and "home grown." My pops did his best to steer me in the right direction and now I have the privilege of doing the same for the Goo. My dad didn't really "get" skateboarding, but he did his best to support me and my love for the fledgling activity. The first time the old man saw our name on a #SK8HI he wept openly. Like a lot of men from his era, he had problems communicating his feelings, but I always knew I was loved and that he was proud of me. It was "his" shoe he had said. Ha!
