There is so much paranoia. Who instilled all this paranoia in us? Running out to buy as many assault rifles as possible because we feel that we won't be able to protect ourselves from the bad guys, when not even the police -- trained, heavily armed -- can instantly stop unthinkable horror with another bullet? or that our government will take ALL our guns away (which they won't). I think, right now, there seems to be more interest in arming ourselves than in saving ourselves. Donald Trump is saying '...some kid with a gun strapped to his side putting a bullet in his head would have been so beautiful...' because he wants our vote. I don't think Donald Trump gives two shits about owning a gun. I don't think he hunts or shoots or cares. We are at our worst right now -- forget the administration -- we are at our worst because we have no voice. We blame politics for our shortcomings when it's our weaknesses, our confusion at how our country became sloth and emotionally obese, that has us paralyzed. So many of us are armed and are having a ball shooting our clay pigeons, but what the hell do you need an assault rifle for that for? A shotgun would protect your family, make you feel safer, cannot be modified into a military killing machine, and it's still great for skeet. We lost in Vietnam and we were, by far, the more heavily armed. More guns, less restrictions, does not assure our safety. Let's come together on this.
