Photo by Guy Martin @mrguymartin, taking you into the rural Rhodope mountains of Bulgaria and into the small village of Ribnovo where I spent 20 months documenting the daily lives and unique wedding celebrations of the Pomak people. Here, 21 year old Bride Fatme Inez, is being walked out of the front door of her parents home for the last time by her father and her husband. She will be greeted by villagers eager to see what she looks like after being elaborately painted and dressed by her female friends and family. The Pomak people are a small Slavic-Muslim ethnic minority and Ribnovo is one of only two villages that hold the elaborate wedding celebrations during the winter months.
