Many countries, one shared destiny.
The annual Asia Security Summit, aka The Shangri-La Dialogue, is currently taking place (at the Shangri-La Hotel of course). Defence ministers and senior military officials have flown in from all over the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to meet and discuss defence and security issues. Organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Singapore has hosted the Dialogue since it began in 2002.
We kicked off with Thai PM Prayut’s keynote address yesterday. Many more discussions are planned during this weekend.
The Dialogue is also a good occasion to catch up with our international friends and partners. I have met quite a few who are here for the forum. This weekend will be a busy and fruitful one for all of us. - LHL (MCI Photo by Terence Tan)
