Today is the ''Bread Procession of the Saint,” a ceremony in honor of Saint Domingo de La Calzada (1019-1109) who helped poor people. The procession took place earlier today in the small northern Spanish town named after the saint. Every year during spring season, ''Las Doncellas'' (the White Virgins) hold on their head a basket covered with white cloth while they walk in the streets of this old village.
