PORTER STANDでは「旅」というコンセプトを元にPOSTがセレクトした写真集を販売しています。
先日、新たな写真集も加わり、様々な種類をお選びいただけます。
本日はその中からRobert Frankの 「IN AMERICA」をご紹介いたします。
1959年以降に映画製作へ転向し、アメリカで代表作「The Americans」を発行、また1970年代に再び写真を手掛けるようになってからは様々な作風の作品を制作するようになりました。
そのため、1950年代のフラ ンクのアメリカでの作品群はあまり知られていません。
本書に収録されている作品は、スタンフォード大学のカンター・アーツ・センターが収蔵するロバート・フランクの貴重な作品コレクションを軸にしていますが、それがまさにこの1950年代の作品群にフォーカスをあてています。
131点収録されているうちの22点 は「The Americans」にも収録されていますが、それ以外はあまり知られていない作品となっています。

At PORTER STAND we carry photo books selected by POST under a concept of "TRIP".
Some new photo books have just came in, so you would be able to select from a wide variation.
Among the selection, today we would like to introduce "IN AMERICA" by Robert Frank.
He has turned to film production after 1959, and issued the masterpiece "The Americans" in the US. On and after the 1970s, he once again started to take photos and created many pieces in various styles.
Therefore, Frank's works in the 1950s in America has not been noticed very much.
The works in this book is centered on the Robert Frank collection that has been saved at the Cantor Arts Center, but this is focused on his works during the 1950s.
Moreover, the 22 pieces from the 131 pieces included in this book is also in "The Americans", but all of the other pieces have not been exposed so much.
