Looking down and across the small village of Andretta in Northern India. It was founded as an artists colony by an Irish woman in the 1920's and for almost a century has attracted notable painters, writers, actors and most importantly, potters. This was a special place to visit for all of us, it's where both Ra (my brother Strath) and Lumbo (@panpottery) spent months learning traditional pottery from some living masters - privy to knowledge and skills handed down through generations.
A lot of homes in the village are now owned by wealthy descendants of the original residents, most now living in cities south of here and sadly only ever using them as holiday retreats - others have been abandoned all together, slowly falling apart as the weeds and weather make their claim.
Despite this, Andretta still has an incredible sense of community and spirit and at the centre of it all is the small pottery studio. A place Strath, Gus and everyone who visited them will remember fondly for a lifetime. #35mm IG takeover by @mattrabbidge #welcometothejourney #indiaonenfields
