Because the United States is so big, and because we have so much #protected #wildlands, and because it would be near impossible to explore every corner in your neck of the woods, sometimes getting out of your #comfortzone and into #newworlds is a challenge. There are logistics involved. Money to spend. Time to take off of work. But the #upshot of #exploring is opening yourself to new worlds. As I write this, I’m in the snow-covered #RockyMountains. I spent last weekend #skiing in an epic spring dump. Meanwhile @thatoutdoorguy4real is splashing around in #waterfalls in his enormous #wild #backyard. His writing about hiking in the #south is so compelling that I’m starting to imagine my trip. Will it be intermountain? Coastal? I know one thing: It will be #verdant.
