It’s #MuseumWeek! Since today’s theme is #architectureMW, we snapped this shot of the rose window in the Castle library.
The library is in a staff section of the building and frequently used for meetings, aka the most picturesque conference room ever.
The Castle (officially called the Smithsonian Institution Building) was finished in 1855 and was the first of our buildings on the National Mall. James Renwick, Jr. designed it in a combination of Romanesque and Gothic styles.
