@yellowstone_cougar_project and I have learned a great deal from the most elusive predator in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem over the last two years. Perhaps most importantly, what it takes to raise a family. When we started working together, we had both just had our first children. Dan’s family had a little boy, and we had a little girl. Funny that this female would give birth to these kittens roughly at that same time and as the research began to gain traction, they would slowly begin to give us a glimpse into their lives. I can only imagine the different lessons we’ve had to teach our children.
Now quickly approaching two years old, these kittens are on the verge of leaving their mothers side and dispersing. Heading off to create their own territories. Making their own way through the heart of Yellowstone. w/ @drewtrush
