Tech Tip Tuesday: It's that time of the week again, so let's dig in. This tip is one I've started using just this past year AND it involves one of my favorite types of shooting conditions -- the cold.
This past year I've shot in the cold snowy environments of Nepal, Japan, Iceland and Canada and had to deal with a reoccurring issue with camera batteries -- these little batteries hate the cold. Over the years I've just used heater packs in a small bag (and that works well) but the ultimate solution I discovered this past winter to keeping my batteries warm on even the most brutal days... a thermos. Yup throw your batteries in a vacuum thermos with an already hot heater pack or even better some hot cocktail stones and those babies will be ready to go in even the coldest conditions (like this ? from Nepal when it was -20!).
