Our judge @jaydickmanphoto had this to say about the winning photo: "Photography has and is a voice…it speaks on a simple level or it speaks in multiple languages. The power of photography is its ability to resonate with the viewer, often taking us into the world they’re experiencing. This photo works on many of those levels: top to bottom, edge to edge it’s a beautifully constructed image that wastes no space. Look how important the gentleman’s bent arm in the foreground is to this image: establishing a point on which the eye starts its journey through this photo. The photographer used a slow shutter speed here to help emphasize the chaos of this scene. It’s one of those images of which we can allow our vision to stay with it for a long time, scanning over the photo, and creating a feeling for this event."
