Today, we have more than 200,000 advertisers on Instagram, each sharing ads that spark the varying interests of our community. Businesses from around the globe, like paper typographer, Sabeena Karnik (@sabeenu) based in India, are using the platform to grow their businesses. From a young age, Sabeena was fascinated by both typography and paper as a medium. But it was just four years ago that she started combining the two. “I started doing paper typography by accident,” says the artist from Mumbai. “Since I was always making things out of paper, one day I decided to combine it with my love of type and created the entire alphabet series." As a way to visually share the process of her work, Sabeena joined Instagram. “I suddenly became part of an engaged community that inspired and encouraged all of my achievements,” she says of Instagram. “And I started getting work through my account." Designing magazine covers, billboards, advertising campaigns and brand logos for client all over the world, Sabeena is making her mark and growing her business. “Some of my best assignments have come through Instagram,” she says. “I’m so grateful for those interactions every day."
