This is a photo of Mazzy and me while I was on maternity leave, shortly before I returned to work and then got subsequently laid off. This is a hard subject for me to write about but it needs to be discussed. My biggest issue with being a working parent started before I was even a parent. When I was pregnant, I felt like I had to work over time to prove my value and dedication, while simultaneously feeling unable to perform at 100%. I'm talking about how pregnancy needs to be part of the "working parent" conversation on the blog today (link in bio). Thanks to @PlumOrganics for including a focus on the difficulties of work life balance as part of their #ParentingUnfiltered campaign.
