Doing the basics 'savagely' well is something that the worlds elite players master and make looks easy. Here's @アーセナルFC 's @ダニエル・クローリー Performing x2 drills I like to use to help master some of the skills a top player needs to perform instinctively whilst also helping with conditioning.
Drill 1. Can be done using a marking on a wall or like I have used a couple of plyo boxes weighted down. Passing, receiving and moving the ball is easy enough but the aim is to do it at pace and keep control throughout. A great drill for the end of a session when you have to really concentrate on your touch and work hard to keep the tempo high.
Drill 2. Using a stability ball and a kick pad to help improve Dans reactions, agility and acceleration. The player stands with his back to the coach. The coach initiates the drill by kicking the ball towards the player. The player must turn 180 degrees once he hears the ball kicked. He needs to first side step the oncoming ball before moving past the coach who can add controlled pressure using the pad and finally accelerating into the space behind the coach.
