A female named Kabar in Gunung Palung National Park, WKalimantan, with her baby, one of the wild orangutans being studied as part of Cheryl Knott’s Gunung Palung Orangutan Project. Orangutans only give birth about once every 7-9 years, so a mother may only have three or four offspring in her lifetime. That’s why every orangutan is so precious. Bornean orangutans are endangered with less than 45,000 remaining in the wild. Lets protect their remaining habitat!
