Repost from @ジェナ・マローン Great graphic showing very clearly the problems with the Academy. This is not to say the nominees this year are less good, or less deserving than in any other year. This is to say thank heavens the spotlight is finally on this issue of diversity in Hollywood and systemic racism and sexism in the system. We should be embarrassed by these numbers, anyone who isn't needs to sit right down. Doubling minority and female voters will help, getting more women in studio offices will too. Voting with your wallets and spending money to watch movies by people who aren't white men is also game-changing. And I can't even handle how excited I am to hear @chrisrock 's take on this whole shebang.
