The smile as I'm about to cross the finishing line last night shows how happy I am to have won my seventh consecutive Potts classic title- the Sylvia Potts memorial 800m! First 800m of the season, or first 800m since World Champs in August! Thanks to Richard Potts and the rest of the team for organising the awesome meet, Andrew Spence for sponsoring our race, and everyone else for your support!!
Was great to get back to my favourite distance but I did feel a bit rusty after not having done much speed work or 800m work yet, but was a good way to start the season. Well done to my good friend Katherine Marshall on getting second, only a second off your pb for your first 800m of the season, and Ariana Harper on 3rd in a new pb- exciting things ahead!! Big well done also to Nick Willis on taking the men's 800 title and my training buddy Brad Mathas on second, awesome race!!
Today is exactly 7 months til the 800m heat for the Olympics in Rio, the dream is getting closer!! All the best to everyone competing at the Cooks Classic on Tuesday!! Next race for me is Capital Classic on Friday night!!
