Florence was not on the front line of WWI. But on these streets, immersed in history centuries older than the catastrophe of WWI, I find hope for the future.

One realizes that life goes on, mankind has a way of healing itself from dark periods of war and destruction and that ultimately what matters are our relationships to other human beings. In the end, all we have is each other.
