In the Serengeti, I quickly realized that the watering hole where I would photograph my next Day To Night was a “safe zone” for many animals. The zebras flocked to the water not only to drink, but to bathe, play, wander, and explore. Over the course of 30 hours of shooting, I was moved by the peacefulness of the scene—there was a sense of community, sharing this single resource in the midst of a five week draught.
