Photograph by @Thomas Peschak The fishermen living on Vamizi Island off the coast of Mozambique, have collaborated with the eco-tourism industry to declare the waters around part of their island a community marine reserve. Since protection began in 2006 marine life has staged a significant comeback and today reef fish are once again spilling out into adjacent fishing grounds. This result is better catches and more secure livelyhoods for the people of Vamizi Island.
