Crows have always been my favorite birds, they remind me of my western Kansas roots.
The above is a hooded crow, a Eurasian bird species in the Corvus genus. Found across Northern, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, as well as parts of the Middle East.
The hooded crow was one of the main species originally described by Linnaeus in his 18th-century work Systema Naturae and it bears its original name. Carl Linnaeus was a Swedish botanist, physician, and zoologist, who laid the foundations for the modern biological naming scheme.
