In 1926, a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photographer captured a man going by the name of Santa Claus feeding pigeons on Boston Common. But perhaps he was an imposter. The same year, the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ published a story with the headline, "Santa Claus Claimed as a Real New Yorker." The article began: "Santa Claus is peculiarly New York's own." After all, St. Nicholas was the patron saint of Amsterdams old and new. And the #SantaClaus we know today is largely a jolly amalgam of characters drawn by New Yorkers like Washington Irving, Clement Clarke Moore and Thomas Nast.
