Branko Lustig’s journey took him from the Nazi death camps of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen to triumph at the Oscars, where he twice won the Academy Award for best picture. After working with Steven Spielberg on Schindler’s List, the two set up the Shoah Foundation, to record the testimony of more than 50,000 Holocaust survivors: “It’s important that we not forget, never forget.
