while visiting a beautifully textured temple - we were asked to join the midday meal - in the dining area were communal tables laden with many small bowls - each containing a different vegetarian dish or soup - my favorites - a comforting mushroom & broken rice soup and a slow cooked heart of coconut tree (which you would swear was ossobuco) - though many of the dishes were strange to my palate each had the simple universal taste of home - i sat around the jovial table, full and happy and thankful
