?? - Why I won’t put a French flag in front of my happy holiday picture, and why the hashtag “PrayforParis" won’t appear in any of my posts. I am still shocked about what happened in Paris the 13th of November. I am born in France and spent there the first 19 years of my life. I see my family and friends feeling scared, insecure, I see my country with all his great culture and History falling a little bit appart. I am moved to see all the support from all around the world, everywhere, and my thoughts went to the French people, there, with who I wish I was. I prayed for Japan after the heath quakes. I stood for Charlie Hebdo in the name of Freedom of Speech. But this time, I am praying for the entire World and Humanity. I am praying for the family of the victimes in Paris. I am praying for the thousands of Syrian civils dead from the War. I am praying for the victims of Beyrouth’s attacks 24 hours earlier that everybody ignored. I am praying for all the people dead recently because of racism, and for those who feel uncomfortable in their own country because of their origins. I won’t follow Facebook's ethnocentrism harassment who wants to make me change my picture for what he decides to support. I don’t want to ignore the international impact on this tragedy and the entire world’s concern. Instead, I changed my picture into a painting of Marianne, french symbol of “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” values for what we should stand for, outside any flags and frontiers. Let’s stop just praying for what we love. It’s time to fight for what we stand.
