The statue in the small grassy triangle (lower right) is an interloper: Titled “The Triumph of Civic Virtue,” depicts a male figure of virtue bestriding a pit of writhing women symbolizing vice. It stood in City Hall Park from 1922 until Mayor LaGuardia got it moved to Queens Borough Hall in 1941.
