#OnThisDay in 1997 Helenio Herrera passed away. The Argentinian was one of the greatest coaches of all time and is best remembered for his tremendous success with @インテルナツィオナーレ・ミラノ in the 1960s. His Inter Milan team, nicknamed La Grande Inter, won back-to-back European Cups and pioneered a new style of play that greatly affected the future of European football. Herrera modified a 5-3-2 tactic known as the Verrou (door-bolt) to include larger flexibility for counter-attacks – and the Catenaccio was born.
