Photo by @stephenwilkes: Sacré-Coeur is one of the most visited destinations in Paris, so I chose it as a subject of my series, Day To Night ™. In this image, edited to reflect the transition of day to night, shows hundreds of people gathered on the lawn of this 19th century basilica, ready to climb its steps and take in the breathtaking views from its hilltops.
I was prepared to capture the hundreds of captivated visitors. Instead, I saw their attention drawn elsewhere... Almost every person in my view had their phone, camera, selfie stick at the ready--eager to capture themselves "enjoying the moment". A token more valuable than anything a souvenir shop could provide.
