So happy to meet Mr G Muthukumarasamy (centre) at the NTUC National Delegates' Conference dinner yesterday. He is General Secretary of the Amalgamated Union of Public Daily Rated Workers.
At the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew's state funeral service, Kumar recounted how the late Mr Lee had inspired him to develop as a worker, a unionist and a leader. We are fortunate to have good union leaders like Kumar who champion the interests of workers, and also understand the national interest.
As part of NTUC’s leadership renewal, the Delegates' Conference will elect a new Central Committee. I hope the newly-elected team will continue to lead the Labour Movement wisely, uphold our model of tripartism and help us to progress as one united people.
