Today the Museum hosted a press preview for “Ancient Egypt Transformed: The Middle Kingdom.” This major international exhibition features 230 powerful and compelling masterworks, many that have never before been shown in the United States. Opening next Monday, October 12, this is the first comprehensive presentation of Middle Kingdom art and culture. Here, the Museum’s unofficial mascot “William” is joined by another hippopotamus figure from the Met’s collection. #metmuseum #MiddleKingdomEgypt
