#TBT to my road trip along the Great Ocean Road in southern Australia.
These limestone pillars began as part of the cliffside but stayed stalwart as they watched extreme weather erode the rocky walls around them and the land retreat like a bunch of friends that just nominated you for cleanup crew.
The formation is known as the 12 Apostles, but there are only 8. Number 9 crumbled in 2005 and as for 11 and 12, well...they're sort of the imaginary friends of the geological world. Go with it.
