I’ve driven a lot of riders since I first started, but I’ll never forget my first one. It was about noon on a Saturday when I opened the app and got the request. She flew into my car, clearly going through an emotional roller coaster and didn't say a word. At first I just drove silently as she fidgeted in the back seat, not sure if I should say something or just leave her be, but after a few minutes she started talking.

She told me about how she had just quit her job, something she’s wanted to do for so long and never had the guts to. She told me how frustrating it had been to feel so stuck and yet so lost, how she was supposed to have "figured it out" by now. She told me how she had made excuses for so long and everything finally just clicked. Instead of regretting another day stuck in this job, she packed up her stuff, told her boss she was quitting, and headed down south to enjoy her first Saturday off in 4 years.

When I asked her what she was looking forward to the most, she just smiled and said, "Seeing what comes next." - @mashrew #WhyIDrive
