Tire Beach, Warm Water Cove Park, San Francisco, CA. The park gets it name from the warm water discharge that used to come from the power plant in the background. The plant closed in 2011. This spot has long been a dumping ground for tires. Much has been cleaned up, but there are still many tires visible at low tide. Fifty years ago much of the San Francisco Bay south of the city was polluted and the bay waters were used as a dumping ground.
