メトロポリタン美術館のインスタグラム(metmuseum) - 9月22日 01時17分
This painting, which was enormously popular and has been extensively reproduced, was exhibited at the Salon of 1912. When it was displayed in the window of an art dealer in New York City, Anthony Comstock, the head of the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice, ordered its removal. The controversy that ensued was given wide publicity by the press, and the painting was denounced or defended all over the country. Paul Chabas (French, 1869–1937). September Morn, ca. 1912. #metmuseum #September #PaulChabas
