Over the last decade, @therealandrewmoore has made upward of 30 trips to the states surrounding the 100th meridian, the longitude line that divides the United States in half. He went to places that aren’t marked on a map — places that can’t be Googled. While searching for a story, he realized he wanted to tell the tale of the land itself. “The magnificent emptiness of this land hadn’t really been told, and had been hard to photograph,” he told our photo blog, #Lens. “That was the challenge I saw. And I like challenges.” He took this photo, Thorne House, in Stanley County, South Dakota in 2014. His book, “Andrew Moore: Dirt Meridian,” will be released next month.
