When my oldest daughter turned 10, we jumped on a flight to Beijing, and hiked the Great Wall. This section is reached by hiking 45 minutes through farm fields and forests and paying $1 each to use a handmade ladder to reach the top. Over our five mile hike we were able to experience both the old and restored sections.
