#DidYouKnow: @NTUCSingapore was formed 54 years ago today?

In 1961, when the @PAPSingapore split between the non-Communists and the pro-Communists, the labour movement split up too. The non-Communists retained control of the PAP. In the unions, the pro-PAP unionists, led by Devan Nair and Mahmud Awang, founded the NTUC.

Over the years, NTUC has played an important role in making tripartism work. This has been a tremendous competitive advantage that has helped us journey from Third World to First.
