They may not look like the cutest animals on earth but they play a very valuable role in the eco-system. Vultures on the plains of the Serengeti (where this photo was taken) consume more meat than all the other predators and scavengers combined. When they do this they also consume and destroy a whole variety of pathogens and diseases. Vultures are in steep decline across Asia and Africa and are facing extinction. So give them some love today and see through the ugliness and flies; because they are incredible, beautiful birds and we need them as much as they need us right now.
