Watching the waves crash into these chunks of ice is a wild experience, the glassy translucent ice seems to change colors and light up as the ocean water pours over them on the contrasting black sand. It's a common sight during the summer months as the thawed lagoon spills into the Atlantic Ocean, bringing with it icebergs being pushed out to sea. It's considered one of iceland's natural wonders.
