Photo @Keith Ladzinski / Sunrise at #DeadHorsePoint state park in Utah never disappoints. The area was at one time used for a natural corral by Cowboys rounding up wild horses. With only one feasible way in and out and the surrounding 2,000 foot cliffs acting as a natural barrier, it was a perfect setting. Sadly Dead Horse Point was named after a herd of horses in the 1,800's had been corralled and forgotten, leaving them to die of thirst. It's sad and cruel but such is so much of history where bad decisions have been made. This state park is a place worth visiting, with stunning views north to the la sal mountains and south to the canyonlands, it's open as far as the eye can see.
