How far would you go to get a photograph of a wild animal? My goal is to always be that fly on the wall, blending into my environment, allowing the animal to act naturally and at peace. The comfort or discomfort of a wild animal can often be seen in a photograph. Here, I am dressed in my white camouflage clothing during a blizzard in anticipation of polar bears walking along the coast of Svalbard, Norway. It was on this day that I got an image of the largest male polar bear I have ever seen, courting a female during the spring mating season. It was the only publishable image I got after three weeks of waiting.
