Happy number ?9⃣9⃣? to Irving Harper, the designer who gave us our identity (and the Marshmallow sofa, Pedestal tables, Miniature chests, etc.) while working as the director of design for the George Nelson Office. According to a 1985 oral history in our archives, Harper designed the Herman Miller 'M' logo in about 20 minutes.
