Some 200 public primary school students in Maun, Botswana gather on a rugby field to spell out the initials of Coaching for Conservation, a day camp for Botswana primary schoolers to teach them about their local wildlife and the importance of preserving it for the future.
C4C does this in a very innovative way, by merging the attributes of wildlife species with the skills of soccer (football). Being strong like a lion, fast like a cheetah, working together like hyenas, etc. to instill an understanding that it is fun to learn and that we can learn from animals. With approximately 30% of Africa’s population under age 15, the future of wildlife depends on educating Africa’s youth about their importance and value for future generations.
