Today is #OLYMPICDAY and I wanted to celebrate the badass women that paved the way to allow girls like me to have a dream to compete in the Olympics. The 2000 Sydney Olympics was the first year that women were allowed to participate in weightlifting. Women were competing in World Championships but it was not a recognized as an Olympic sport. The record in my weight class still stands 15 years later. That is just one of the many reasons that shows how badass these women were, so thank you!!! #weightlifting #playlikeagirl #olympics #teamusa
