Today on Father's Day I am so proud of my Mother India. Throughout India's history the girl child has often been seen with no worth. Girls are aborted or killed at birth solely due to their gender. There have been many attempts to draw awareness and education around female foeticide and infanticide but none as effective as what happened this week for Father's Day. In the state of Harayana, an innovative idea of a selfie-with-daughters contest held by a small village has had many families excited.
